Day 1b of the WSOPE main event in London saw some famous faces and some impressive pots. Amongst those going for the bracelet were Daniel Negreanu , Peter Eastgate and Scotty Nguyen but it was the “bald eagle” Steve Zolotow that finished the day on top. The American has won over $1.8 million in  live poker events  since he began playing way back in 1988.

Zolotow had a dramatic finale to yesterdays action when he doubled his stack with trip threes.  Leading the way as we head into day 2 with 160,000 chips, Zolotow is closely tailed by former  WSOP  champion Negreanu and you would never bet against his fellow countryman to upset the show. In total, 178 players stumped up the cash (£10,000 buy in) to take part in the WSOPE main event on day 1b making a total of 334 players.
I’ve booked myself into a rather shabby hotel up in the big smoke to get the action from the tables so Bookmark poker-shark.co.uk now and follow the WSOPE with us! If you are looking at  qualifying for the 2011 WSOPE  or any of the other major live poker tournaments offered by our partner Pokerstars, you can currently  take advantage of a massive $600 welcome bonus.
