The WSOP Main event is underway(57). The $10000 NLHE mainevent finished the day on Monday with Troy Weber in front with 200000 in chips. There is still a long way to go in this competition that has a Prize pool of $61 million. The tournament pays out the top 648 spots.
There is always a litle controversy with WSOP and this year was no different with 500 players being turned away from entering as they were at capacity. Many people see the WSOP as a way of making their fame and fortune. The tounament saw Phil Helmuth join the action dressed as Caesar followed by an entorage of Roman beauties and muses. No one else really managed to top Phils entrance, surprisingly!
Another change this year is the starting chip levels rose from 20000 to 30000. This will give the WSOP Mainevent a little more game time and it could swing the win to a tighter player who can wait for his hand to come in.
