Russian online poker player Yevgeniy Timoshenko has won the 2009 WCOOP main event, pocketing $1,715,200 in the process. The biggest online poker tournament is held by poker-shark.co.uk top rated room Pokerstars, with 45 events taking place over 18 days. The 2009 wsoop was so big that that second place in the main event still became a millionaire!

Not a bad position to be in then! Heads up and you know that losing means walking away with $1,2 million. Alias ‘Udon Wannit’ was the player beaten with the final action of an amazing tournament. The WCOOP 2009 was a truly global spectacle with online players from 140 different countries contributing to the $51,652,800 prize pool.    No other tournament online can match these kind of statistics and we hope that the WCOOP 2010 event matches this for pure excitement.
In addition to the 45 WCOOP bracelets available, there was also a points board determining the “player of the Series”. With two event wins and a more than respectable 4th place in the main event (from 2144 players)  Daniel Kelly took the glory.
Pokerstars are currently offering players a $600 first deposit welcome bonus, which is the perfect introduction to the biggest poker room anywhere online. Take a look at our review or just get stuck in to the Pokerstars community!
