If you turn on the TV, radio or any other information giving device then you will know that the world is in turmoil.  We've run out of money.....  Well the banks have.  With the global downturn no industry is safe and the online gaming industry isn't in a bubble.

Poker Room.com closed their doors to online poker 14th April 09.  Sadly its not the first to suffer from the current state of affairs.  PokerRoom.com was one of the first establshed operators (1999) and thrived in the early part of the decade.  They were one of the first to give players gaming options by introducing different game types and they had brought players through from grass roots tha peformed well in major tournaments.  Though its not all doom and gloom as player are being encouraged to use Bwin as their poker room of choice.  Bwin is expanding across all betting markets, but their focus on poker is paying dividends.  Across all its products it says it has 1.16 million active players.  Aquisitions such as this will go a long way in helping their cause.

From Poker-Sharks point of view we see Bwin as a strong brand that is beginning to create some serious market share.  Check out the Poker-Shark.co.uk Bwin review in the online ratings section on the site.
