James Akenhead is one of Poker Sharks favourite poker players because he doesn't give up. He took home today with a 6 figure haul after winning the Full Tilt Poker Million VIII. It was only a matter of time before the WSOP big hitter took a sizeable first place. He was not the favourite with the bookies today. The chip leader at the start of the session Luke Schwartz was going for 2/1. Akenhead was at a nice price of 9/4. You will need to back him early in future as the bookmakers will have his card marked.
Sky Sports covered the televised event and Full Tilt Sponsored the Poker Million tournament. It would appear that Full Tilt have not given this tournament as much coverage as other tournaments and the results to the Poker Million tournament are yet to be posted on their site.
Trust Poker Shark to give you the news you want when you want it.
1st James Akenhead

3rd Dag Martin Mikkelsen
4th Luke Shwartz
The final table took some critisism on the forums for not being lively enough. Too much raise/shove for some viewers. So the future of the Poker Million Tournament may have to be looked at. It now faces some other televised competition like the World Open which arguably has a structure more suited to televison.
There is so much poker to be played over crimbo you may as well get involved in some of the better deals out there. For the Europeans I suggest Betfairs Hot Tournament and for our rogue American followers I prefer cake poker just due to its slightly smaller size compared to Stars and Tilt. That said if you are a shrewd operator you can make some big money at those rooms. But the choice is yours good people - Just have fun!
