Poker is big business across the globe and the boom has been particularly strong in europe.  In the UK we have a rough diamond who can, on the day, out perform many of his peers.  Ladies and gentlemen I give you Julian Thew. 

Formerly a draughtsman who gave it all up for a shot as a pro poker player.  Julian has been on the scene since 2001 and has made some impressive wins.  Most notably winning European Poker Tour Baden event in 2007 and he walked away with $947 000.  His career winnings reach $2.3 million!  

Thew has the nickname the Yo Yo because his chip stacks can frequently change in size.  He has a reputation as a fearsome opponent at the table and he is regarded very highly off the table.  Julian is a part of the William Hill stable.  From what I can make of Thew is that he is a battler at the table.  He has true British grit and I think that if anyone from the UK is going to walk away with a coveted bracelet its him.  Julian Thew is Poker-Sharks player of choice and we will be watching him closely over the next few months.
