Its a good day to be a European Poker player as a crack shot team of European poker players showed the American's a thing or two at the felt.  The Caesar Cup tournament will be televised on ESPN over the next 12 months.  The teams were as follows:-

Europe

Annette Obrestad (Capt),  Patrik Antonius, Ilari "ziigmund" Sahamies, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, Dario Minieri  and John Harvey (Betfair Qualifier)

America

Daniel Negreanu (Capt), Phil Hellmuth, Phil Ivey, Huck Seed, Doyle Brunson and Jennifer Harmen

Europe started with guns blazing as Antonius and Sahamies made short work of Ivey and Seed.  The Betfair qualifer John Harvey proved his worth when up against Negreanu and Hellmuth.  Grospellier partnered the newbie against the big table personalities and they triumphed.

America managed to pull back a game with Brunson and Harmen showing Obrestad and Minieri how they roll.  But America failed to equalise the match in the last game which was Heads Up and went down 3-1 in the end to a well schooled European team.  There was some banter thrown around after the match as you would expect with a clash of of ego's such as this.  I think this win for Europe will have America thinking very seriously about the next years Caesar cup and how important it will be for them to adjust their style of play to win.

If you want the chance to play at a high level of poker like John Harvey then you need to register with Betfair and try out their poker platform,
