In 2009 there have been a few players that have stood out; Joe Cada (WSOP Main Event Winner), Darvin Moon (Lumber Jack who was chip leader in WSOP) and now Isildur1 who to begin with wiped the floor with some of the biggest names in Poker. He is ultra aggressive and was making money like it was going out of fashion. In the last couple of weeks he has lost as big as he was winning and is predicted at being down $7 million.
The rumours have been spreading faster than an Aussie bush fire. Who is Isildur1. Victor Blom got the nod this week and Todd Brunson has also been suggested. We, at Poker-Shark, deal in facts. Lets look at what we know......
Anyone who chooses the handle Isildur1 is a Tolkein fan. Now generally these are men. For our investigation we are going to take this as being the case. We want to look at the name Isidur for a moment. The name is mentioned in the Fellowship of the Rings and the character is detailed more in the Silmarillion and Unfinished Tales. He was (briefly) the second king of Gondor and Arnor. His name means "devoted to the moon". In a note written well after the initial publication of The Lord of the Rings, Tolkien gave Isildur's height as seven feet tall. In the Lord of the Rings Isildur chops off the finger of Sauron.
Is the 'devoted to the Moon' a reference to Darvin Moon? The height of Isildur is seven feet tall. Does this mean our Isidur1 is exceptionally tall or a short man who wants to be tall?
Could this person be Darvin Moon? Possibly backed by investors to take down the biggest names in Poker like Isildur chopping down the ring of power he is chopping down bracelets?
Probably not in all honesty but it makes an interesting story. Never take acid and write the news!
