Everybody loves Poker and Celebrities, so its time Poker-Shark.co.uk begins a little expose on how the cross over stardom to poker ace occurs.  Each month we will be focusing on different celebrity poker players how their past influences their style of play.  The obvious advantage that many celebrity poker players have over the mere mortals like us is that they can usually afford the big buyins or they are much more likely to get sponsored into a game.

Celebrity Poker Players rarely crack under pressuer and if anything they thrive on it.  A lot of Celebrity Poker Players come from the sporting arena, this eletist background and the inner focus can give them the edge in big money games.  

This month we are looking a former footballing legend Teddy Sheringham.  Teddy has always been a true professional on the field and an accomplished finisher in the box. 

As celebrity poker players go Teddy is very cool at the table.  Teddy has played a few times in the 888.com sponsored events.  He has twice walked away in the money over the last four years.  Teddy Sherringhams biggest win was in Oct 2005 in the 888.com pacific poker open in Maidstone, UK.  Teddy came in 3rd in the Semi Final and won $20 000.  More recently aside from several 5th place finishes he did win himself a tournament prize in the Ante Up for Africa in Europe where he came 2nd to Isabelle Mercier.  Teddy Sheringham's prize was entry into the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in the Bahamas in January.
