Latin America Poker Tour

The Latin America Poker Tour (LAPT) is still in its infancy but has all the makings for a great Poker tour.   Rio De Janeiro was the setting for the very first LAPT event in May 2008 and the Dutchman Julien Nuijten was able to walk down the Copacabana, a happy man scooping the $222,940 first prize! The Latin America Poker Tour sponsored by Pokerstars had three events in season one with Costa Rica and Uruguay completing the calendar.

So was season 1 of the LAPT a success, Well Poker-Shark.co.uk think so! Season two is already up and running with American Ryan Fee claiming the top spot in Costa Rica and Fabian Oritz taking the Glory in Chile. This win was a significant one making Fabian, from Argentina, the first player from the region to take the top prize in a Latin America Poker Tour Main event. Plans to extend the LAPT with a fourth event were dashed when the Mexican leg was cancelled but we think there is plenty more to come from a region rich in talent.
